TAKE NOTE OF THE FOLLOWING KEY TERMS. 

1. INTRA District Re-postings mean seeking for a re-posting or transfer from one school to another school within the same District.

2. INTER District Re-postings mean seeking for a re-posting or transfer from a school in current District to a school in another District within the same region.

3. INTER Regional Re-postings mean seeking for a re-posting or transfer from a school in current region to a school in another region.

Coverghana.com.gh can report that, the Ghana Education Service (GES) has announced timeline/date and processes for 2021 Inter Regional and Intra/Inter District Re-postings across the country.

In a statement issued by the Human Resource Management Division (HRMD) at the Ghana Education Service (GES) Mrs. Adjoa Van Vicker to inform all Regional/Metropolitan/Municipal/District Directors said, due to the changes in the academic calendar, the reposting processes will now commence from 1st August, 2021, to take effect from January, 2022.

According to the GES, reposting is done at the end of the academic year in order not to disrupt the flow of teaching and learning. Since the academic year now starts in January and ends in
December, the reposting process cannot begin during the usual period.

The statement further said, the issuance of Assurance letters takes effect from 1st August, 2021.

The Ghana Education Service has directed that, completed applications for Inter Regional Postings should be forwarded to the GES Headquarters by 30th September, 2021.

“Please note that a teacher seeking re-posting, can only be released, after the Director-General has approved and issued out a re-posting letter to the applicant.” GES declared.

PROCESS FOR INTRA DISTRICT RE-POSTINGS FOR 2021/2022 ACADEMIC YEAR.

STEP ONE (1)

1. All Heads of schools must declare their vacancies to their District Directors.

2. All District Directors should forward vacancies received from the schools to their Regional Directors.

3. Regional Directors should forward vacancies received from the Districts to the Director HR, GES Headquarters.

STEP TWO (2)

An Applicant writes to the District Director and attaches his/her current payslip, personal record form, certificates, bank clearance, etc. indicating his/her willingness to move from his/her current school to another school within the District.

STEP THREE (3)

The District Director issues an assurance letter or otherwise to applicant.

NOTE: A teacher seeking Inter Regional re-posting can only be released by the Regional Director after the Director-General has given final approval to the applicant.

STEP ONE (1)

1. All Heads of schools must declare their vacancies to their District Directors.

STEP TWO (2)

An applicant seeks for Assurance from the District of Choice where vacancies exist.

STEP THREE (3)

The receiving District Director issues an assurance letter or otherwise to applicant

STEP FOUR (4)

1. After securing the assurance letter, the applicant then applies for Reposting from his/her current District.

2. The District Director forwards the application letter and inter-regional reposting form (as well as all necessary documents, Eg. Current Payslip, Assurance Letter Certificates, Bank Clearance, etc) with a covering letter to the Regional Director for final approval

STEP FIVE (5)

After the approval by the Regional Director, the current District Director releases the applicant to complete the re-posting process.

NOTE: A teacher seeking Inter Regional reposting can only be released by the Regional Director after the Director-General has given final approval to the applicant.

STEP ONE (1)

1. All Heads of schools must declare their vacancies to their District Directors.

2. All District Directors should forward vacancies received from the schools to their Regional Directors.

3. Regional Directors should forward vacancies received from the Districts to the Director HR, GES Headquarters.

STEP TWO (2)

An applicant seeks for Assurance from their Region of choice through the District/Municipal/Metro Directors of Education.

STEP THREE (3)

Regional Director issues an assurance letter or otherwise to applicant.

STEP FOUR (4).

1. After securing the assurance letter, the applicant then applies for re-posting from his/her current District.

2. The District Director forwards the application letter and inter-regional reposting form (as well as all necessary documents, Eg. Current Payslip, Assurance Letter, Certificates, Bank Clearance, etc) with a covering letter to the Regional Director.

3. The Regional Director forwards all approved documents and a covering letter to the Director General for final approval

STEP FIVE (5)

After the Director-General’s approval is given, the Regional Director issues a release letter to the applicant to complete the reposting process

NOTE: A teacher seeking Inter Regional reposting can only be released by the Regional Director after the Director-General has given final approval to the applicant.
