GES DG directs all Regional and District Directors to Cease Internal Transfers

The Director General of the Ghana Education Service has directed all regional directors in the country to hold on with internal transfers with immediate effect.

According to the letter signed by the AG. Director, HRMD for Director-General, Ms. Angela Frimpomaa Nkansah dated 1st February 2023, all Regional Directors are to direct all Metropolitan/Municipal/District Directors of Education, as a matter of urgency, to hold on with all Internal Transfers with immediate effect.

In addition, the notice has it that the Ghana Education Service will communicate back when modalities concerning Internal Transfers are reviewed.

This directive comes days after the service was in the news with some staff of the service lamenting over the inappropriateness of Internal Transfers activities are going in the Western Region.

It has been reported that Teachers who have served for more than 15 years at a particular school have been reposted or/ transferred to another school by the Metropolitan/Municipal/District Directors of Education in the Western Region of Ghana.

Based on the decision taken by the Metropolitan/Municipal/District Directors of Education, GES has called for a hold on all Internal Transfers and promised to communicate when modalities concerning Internal Transfers are reviewed.
