The Ghana Education Service (GES) has lifted the interdiction of Mr. Kenneth Agbomadzi, the headmaster of Fijai Senior High School in Sekondi, following the outcome of a committee’s report on allegations of illegal levies collection. As of May 8, 2023, Mr. Agbomadzi has been reinstated.
In a statement signed by Mrs. Felicia Agyeibea Okai, the Director of Education, Western Region, the Director-General directed her to “re-instate [Mr. Agbomadzi] effective May 8, 2023, based on the outcome of the Investigative Committee’s report on the alleged Collection of illegal Levies in the school.”
The GES, however, cautioned against unauthorized collection of levies and warned that it takes any act of illegal collection seriously.
The statement further warned that the GES will not hesitate to take severe sanctions against any officer who flouts its directives and rakes in the future.
The GES has instructed the head, teachers, and parents of the Fijai Senior High School to understand the gravity of unauthorized collection of levies.
The Regional Director has also been directed to hand over the administration of the school to Mr. Agbomadzi and accord him the necessary support for him to function effectively.
