GES releases June Biometric Registration timetable for newly recruited teachers

The Ghana Education Service has released the June Biometric Registration for a total of 796 new entrants or newly recruited teachers who completed their three-year Diploma in Basic Education Programme from the forty-six (46) Accredited Public Colleges of Education in Ghana but couldn’t participate in the earlier exercise.

In reference to the notice, all newly recruited teachers who were employed in December 2019 but couldn’t do their biometric registration are supposed to visit the GNAT Hall in Accra for the June Biometric Registration exercise.

All affected newly recruited teachers have been urged by the Ghana Education Service to wear nose/face mask and also come along with their personal hand sanitizers to effectively observe the precautionary measures against the spread coronavirus pandemic.

This batch of trained teachers completed College of Education in July 2018, wrote the Maiden Ghana Teacher Licensure Examination conducted by the National Teaching Council (NTC) in September 2018 and also went through the mandatory one year National Service from January 7, 2019 to December 31, 2019.

Since then, a section of them who were employed in December 2019 could not received their Staff ID number for biometric registration in order for the Controller and Accountant General’s Department to pay them their salaries.

Meanwhile, about 80% of them did their biometric registration and have been paid their salaries including all arrears. That notwithstanding, information available show that, there are a good number of them that have not been posted even though they have passed successful. The reason for their unemployment, according to them is not known.
