GES Staff threatening Teachers over CPD training.
The Teacher Unions in Ghana namely; the Ghana National Association of Teachers, National Association of Graduate Teachers, Coalition of Concern Teachers have written to the Ghana Education Service over the challenges that teachers are facing with Continuous Professional Development.
In the letter from the Teacher Unions to the Ghana Education Service, the unions indicated that some staff of the Ghana Education Service are threatening teachers and compelling them to attend CPD training at exorbitant fees.

Point six of the letter from the Teacher Unions said;
“6. National Teaching Council CPD POINTS
It s Sad to note that today, on daily basis, teachers and for that matter the teaching progression is confronted with all kinds of Continuous Professional Development at exorbitant fees with the tacit support of some GES Staff who compel teachers under duress or threats to attend. This is therefore a call to action, to sanitize the Continuous Protessional Development environment to curb the consistent exploitation, intimidation and undue pressure from some GES Staff.”
The Union have therefore called on the Ghana Education Service to address the pit in place measures to prevent GES staff from compelling teachers to attend Continuous Professional Development.
