The President elect in the Ghana’s December 2020 general elections who doubles as the Chair of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS), Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has said, the Republic of Ghana is now the net exporter of foodstuffs in the Africa continent.
According to the President, the Planting for Food and Jobs have made food in abundance in our markets. This he said, was God’s intervention to spared Ghana the spectre of food shortages in the Novel Coronavirus pandemic era.
Delivering his final address on the dissolution of the 7th Parliament and the address to the Nation, President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo disclosed that, under the one District on Factory (1D1F) programme his New Patriotic Party government initiated, Ghana is now the net exporter of foodstuffs in Africa.
According to the President, “during the COVID-19 crisis, we have, mercifully, been spared the spectre of food shortages. On the contrary, thanks to Planting for Food and Jobs, food has been in abundance in our markets.”
