Ghana Water Company announces interruption in water supply

Management of Ghana Water Company Limited (GWCL), Accra West Region has announced the interruption of water supply to the public.
In the notice, the company said the interruption will affect some areas especially their customers in Accra West.
DATE AND TIME FOR THE INTERRUPTION
The interruption in water supply has been slated to occur on Wednesday, 28th December, 2022 between the hours of 9:00 am to 5:00 pm.
REASON FOR INTERRUPTION IN WATER SUPPLYÂ
Ghana Water Company Limited (GWCL) disclosed that the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) has requested a shutdown of the Weija Water Treatment Plant to enable them to carry out emergency repair works on the underground cable feeding the Treatment Plant therefore, they cannot supply water within the stipulated time communicated.
GWCL promised their customers and the general public on supplying water as soon as the work is completed.
Due to the emergency works of ECG, Ghana Water Company has urged all customers to store water ahead of the shutdown for inconvenience’s sake.

The affected areas for the shutdown are as follows:

- Tuba
- Amanfrom
- Bortianor
- Weija
- Tetegu
- Gbawe
- Mallam
- Dansoman
- Mamprobi
- Korle-Bu
- Mataheko
- Awudome Estates
- Kwashiman
- Awoshie
- Tesano
- Abeka
- North Kaneshie
- Kaneshie
- Odorkor
- Dakuman
- Sowutuom
- Santa maria
- and adjoining communities.
They regrette the inconvenience that may arise as a result of the interruption.
