GES requests data on non-cooking days for 2022/2023 academic year

In a letter dated 19th April, 2023, Ghana’s School Feeding Programme (GSFP) has issued a request for non-cooking days for the 3rd term of 2022 and the 1st term of 2023 for academic caterers in beneficiary schools.

This request has been sent to the Regional Directors of Education, who will in turn inform the Metro, Municipal, and District Directors of Education. These officials will then bring this request to the attention of the heads of the beneficiary schools.

This request serves as an opportunity to promote the health and wellbeing of students in beneficiary schools. Non-cooking days will allow caterers to focus on the preparation of nutritious and balanced meals during the school week. This will also enable students to enjoy a variety of meals that will contribute to their overall health.

It is important that all stakeholders in the GSFP work together to ensure the success of this initiative. Regional Directors of Education are encouraged to work closely with Metro, Municipal, and District Directors of Education to ensure that this request is properly communicated to the heads of beneficiary schools.
