The Information Minister Hon. Kojo Oppong Nkrumah has announced that, the government has began distribution of Personal Protective Equipment (PPEs) and logistics to all Regional Education offices across the country for onward distribution to various tertiary institutions.
The Information Minister who was speaking to the media said, “as part of the government plans to ensure that, this first face of the reopening of schools for final year students to write exams is done smoothly, the government is providing a number of logistics to ensure that safety is upheld in the schools or safety is secured in these schools.”

According to him, government is starting with the tertiary institutions that are reopening from Monday, 15th June, 2020 with objective of allowing the final year students to write their exit examination. He announced that, a total of 234 tertiary institutions are benefiting from this first batch of logistics. In detailing the figure, he said, the following tertiary institutions will be receiving the PPEs and logistics across the country.

The Minister added that, in all, about 44, 000 members of staff are in these institutions, 128,000 final year students. “We have also made an allowance of about 10% extra and then factored in some non-teaching staff as well. So in all,we are expecting about 200, 000 persons to benefit from these logistics.” He said.
Mr. Kojo Oppong notes that, in terms of the specific logistics, everybody is getting three free face mask, which are reusable so that is about 600,000 mils of face mask, over 1000 Veronica bucket, over 200, 000 unit of hand sanitizer and about 3, 400 packet of tissue paper each with fixed details, about 900 thermometer that are going to all schools.
