The government of Ghana through the Ministry of Interior has declared 7th January, 2021 as a nationwide public holiday.
In a notice served by the Interior Minister Ambrose Dery has declared 7th January, 2021 which marks the inaugural ceremony for the President elect Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo to be observed as a national holiday.

According to the Minister, Thursday, January 7, 2021 which marks ‘Constitution Day’ is to be honoured as statutory Public Holiday and should be observed as such throughout the country.
