Government to extend electricity to remaining communities in South Tongu – DCE

The District Chief Executive of South Tongu District Assembly Hon. Emmanuel Louis Agama reiterated that, the Government of Ghana under the able leadership of President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo is set to supply electricity to remaining communities in South Tongu without access to electricity.

Hon. Emmanuel Louis Agama disclosed this at a handing over ceremony of 1No. CHPS Compound at Dalive-Torzikpota on October 29th, 2020 observed by our Volta Regional reporter Tabitha Kugbonu.

He said, the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Government under the Ministry of Energy, has given them the mandate to write the names of communities that do not have access to electricity so that it can be supplied to them as quick as possible. According to him, he has passed on the message to all the assembly members and they brought up the names and Adidokpoe-Agbosukope is also one of the communities to benefit, adding that the names have already been sent and awaiting endorsement so that the project can be awarded to the contractor for work to commence.

The DCE further explained that, work has already started  in some communities to receive the extension of electricity supply and the beneficiary communities included Toklokpo, Hlevi, Medical City and parts of Sogakope North Electoral Area.

He assured the people of South Tongu that, government will do everything possible to share the national cake among them equally.

Hon. Agama also urged the people of South Tongu to vote for President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo and the New Patriotic Party come December 7th, 2020, so that he can continue with the good work.
