The Honourable Municipal Chief Executive for the Hohoe Constituency Mr. Daniel Noble Awume has officially assumed office on Tuesday, 12th October, 2021 to commence work towards the development and progress of the Constituency.
As part of his roadmap to achieving success, he took the opportunity to fraternize with the various departments within the Assembly and also interacted with the staff to get himself acclimatized with the working environment.
By way of commemorating the International Girl Child Education Day, he granted an interview with the media to acknowledged the importance of education in boosting the socio-economic development of the municipality and by extension, his dear nation, Ghana.
He encouraged full participation and patronage of education by the Girl Child to bridge the gap created relative to their male counterparts.
“It is worth noting that, our workaholic Member of Parliament who doubled as the Minister for Railways Development, Hon. John-Peter Amewu has over the years championed the cause to bridge the Education gap of the Girl Child in the municipality, by rolling out streams of opportunities such as scholarships for the girl child among others to raise the standard of education in the municipality.” He explained.
Mr. Daniel Noble Awume said, it is against this backdrop that he pledged his full support to augment his efforts in that fight and to intensify the campaign to see more girls in our educational institutions.
Earlier, the MCE seized the opportunity to outdoor his plans for the Assembly in the coming days and asked that special attention and priority be given to areas such as Tourism, Education, Health, Security, Agriculture and the local Economy.
He proceeded to meet the Association of Building and Civic Engineering Construction of Ghana to have a first hand information about their concerns and the way forward.
The MCE also met the Millinnium Transport Union leadership to address prevailing concerns of making the transport business enviable as far as citizens of the municipality are concerned.
He continued his visit to all the Security Institutions and Commands and ended his day with a meeting with the Heads of Department within the Assembly.
