Documents: Hon. Okudzeto Probes SSNIT: Why the secrecy on Hotel Deal with Rock City?

The North Tongu constituency Member of Parliament (MP) Honourable Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa has queried SSNIT on hiding the go-ahead given to its Transaction Advisor, SEM Capital, to instruct management of SSNIT’s hotels to grant unfettered access to Rock City.
In a public post with evidence documents, the North Tongu lawmaker queried SSNIT.
“Why did SSNIT fail to disclose in their May 19, 2024 press statement that SSNIT has mandated its Transaction Advisor, SEM Capital, to instruct management of SSNIT’s hotels to grant unfettered access to Rock City by supplying them with all documentation they need, and for personnel from SSNIT’s hotels to make themselves available to Rock City reps as so-called final due diligence for the sale is conducted?”
About the transparency of the Trust and how it’s image is tarnished, he said
“Lack of transparency, sincerity deficit, and refusal to make full disclosure to the Ghanaian public does not help SSNIT’s already battered image with respect to this sordid transaction.”
“These newly intercepted documents (duly attached) send us a very clear message, that the overwhelming majority of Ghanaians, including Organised Labour, opposed to this reckless state capture, do not have the luxury of time.”
“This fresh information must necessarily compel all true patriots to scale up our justified agitations against the unconscionable sale of SSNIT’s hotels to Bryan Acheampong, who is President Akufo-Addo’s serving Minister for Food and Agriculture.”
“These troubling developments make it even more imperative for CHRAJ to act on my petition with expedition.”
“It’s such a monumental betrayal that President Akufo-Addo, who promised that his appointees would not be allowed to engage in profit-making business transactions while holding public office, is looking on unconcerned, as Ghana loses strategic state assets to his errant appointees.”
“Perhaps it is time for the TUC to announce the date for their advertised mother of all strikes, which we shall all be joining, in full solidarity, as we seek to rescue our country, and protect the pensions of workers.”
