Hon. Woyome sponsors critical eye surgeries for 297 constituents in South Tongu

The Vice Chairman of the Volta Region Members of Parliament caucus of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Mr. Wisdom Kobena Mensah Woyome has sponsored critical eye surgeries for his constituents in the South Tongu Constituency.

The eye surgeries which took place at the Sogakope District Hospital from Monday, 27th September, 2021 to Friday, 1st October, 2021 has featured a total of two hundred and ninety-seven (297) persons who went through the surgeries.

Mr. Woyome has teamed up with the Life Wells Vision and the Friends of the Eye, Tamale to undergo the surgeries for his people.

Well trained and volunteer eye specialists/professional doctors were deployed from the Life Wells Vision and the Friends of the Eye, Tamale, assisted by doctors and nurses at the Sogakope to carry out the surgeries.

According to the Member of Parliament for the South Tongu Constituency, the cost of the surgery was borne by him, Life Wells Vision and the Friends of the Eye.

Earlier, the MP has organized FREE EYE SCREENING Programme for his constituents across the South Tongu District in the Volta Region of Ghana.

The eye screening exercise began on Friday, 10th September, 2021 at Larve Zone and ended on Tuesday, 14th September, 2021 at the Fourcourt of Toyace, Sogakope.

The exercise included Free Eye Screening, treatment, issuance of Medicated Glasses and Cataract Surgery for Constituents.

Thousands of citizens have benefited from the free eye screening exercise organized by the MP in collaboration with Life Wells Vision and the Friends of the Eye.

Mr. Woyome said, the purpose of the Free Eye Screening and surgeries is to minimize blindness among his constituents through treatment, issuance of glasses at subsidized cost.

The beneficiaries of the exercise expressed joy and satisfaction as they thanked the Honourable Member of Parliament, Mr. Kobena Mensah Woyome for his kindness and support.
