Member of Parliament for South Tongu Constituency Honourable Kobena Mensah Woyome has donated set of jerseys, football and valleyball to the Dabala Local GNAT.

The donation was made to the leadership of the Dabala Local GNAT during today’s fun games and health screening programme organized for teachers and soldiers of Nutekpor Naval Training Command in the South Tongu District.

According to the Member of Parliament, the donation was made following a request from the local executive officers of GNAT.


The items were presented by Mr. Fialexefe Awuku Moses popularly known as Assure – a member of National Democratic Congress (NDC) from Gonu Ashaigborkope.

The sports kits and the footballs were received by Mr. Ahlidjah Francis – Dabala Local GNAT Secretary and Mr. Stephen Adzima – Dabala Local GNAT Youth Coordinator on behalf of the teachers in the Local.

Earlier this year, the Memeber of Parliament has distributed set of jerseys and footballs to some selected schools in South Tongu that participated in the Ghana Education Service (GES) sports festival held in the District.

He also donated set of jerseys and footballs to football clubs and community football teams in South Tongu.

According to the South Tongu Member of Parliament, this is one of his annual supports in the Sports sector.

Mr. Ahlidjah Francis, the Dabala Local GNAT Secretary while speaking to the media said, the Local has no jersey and football for so many years hence the need for the request from the MP who serves as the Ranking Member on Youth, Sports and Culture Committee of Parliament.

According to him, they always go for jerseys and footballs from schools and clubs when ever teachers within the Dabala Local want to play games.

He is much grateful to Hon. Kobena Mensah Woyome for addressing one among many challenges facing the Local.

He expressed the appreciation of the teachers within the Local to the MP for honouring their request within the shortest possible time.

The secretary explained that, the MP has been supporting GNAT and education in the District. He appeals to Hon. Woyome to continue his selfless support.

Mr. Ahlidjah Francis linted that, the Jerseys shall be customized in the name of the Local and the MP.
