In the letter of invitation to Mr. Bernard Monarh, it States that “the CID Headquarters is investigating a case in which you were alleged to have made. This statement was made at a press conferences organized by the Inter-Party Resistance Against New Register (OPRAN) on 26 May 2020 in Accra. It would be appreciated if you could report to the Director-General/CID on 02 June 2020 at 10:00 am to assist investigations.”
However, reacting to the invitation letter from the CID, Mr Bernard Monarh said “I am responsible for my words and I will repeat them with the energy at my command when I meet them. I have said if the Electoral Commission is intending to slip us through this dangerous path, they should know that there would be confusion and so it’s a caution.
He further explained that “If caution becomes threat, I will not run away from it. I have nothing to run away from. The Electoral Commission is snipping our democracy and we must do everything
to resist and we will resist. There is nothing
that will allow us to sit down and allow this
Electoral Commission slip our democracy
away from the peace and stability that we
have enjoyed.”
