The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has accused President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo for sponsoring thugs and military personnel to intimidate and frustrate Ghanaians from participating in the ongoing Electoral Commission’s new voter’s registration exercise across the country.

In a Weekly Press Briefing of the National Democratic Congress, its communications officer Lawyer Sammy Gyamfi has shown series of videos indicating actions of alleged New Patriotic Party hoodlums, thugs and military personnel who blocked roads in some registration centres to prevent innocent Ghanaians from registering.

The NDC further disclosed that, some Voltarians in Banda Constituency of the Bono Region, Ketu South of the Volta Region and some parts of the Oti Region were attacked and denied their right to register in the registration exercise for vote during the December 2020 polls.

But, in responding to the claims, President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has said he is unaware of any form of intimidation by any group of people in any of the Electoral Commission’s voters registration exercise centres across the country.

The President also said, the claims of the National Democratic Congress is one of their propagandas and a plan to discredit his government.
