Journalist Robbed

The Member of Parliament for the Ofoase-Ayirebi constituency Kojo Oppong Nkrumah who also doubles as the Minister for Information has revealed that at least a journalist has been robbed after the 2020 Polls.

According to the Minister of Information, a number of Journalists have reported that they have been threatened in the aftermath of the 2020 Presidential and Parliamentary elections.

The minister further indicated that, at least one journalist have been robbed and that the threats which the Journalists are receiving is associated with their work as journalists.

In a tweet, Hon. Kojo Oppong Nkrumah said;

“A number of journalists have reported threats and at least one (1) robbery in the aftermath of the 2020 elections.

It has been suggested that these threats are associated with their work as journalists.”

The minister further urged security agencies in the country to Investigative and unmask the identities of the culprits behind the threats to Journalists in the country.

“It is of critical importance that our security agencies get to the bottom of these complaints and use all the legitimate means at their disposal to unmask the identities of the culprits – whatever their motives – and arrest and prosecute them with speed” the Minister added.

Some of the Journalists who have been threatened are; Investigative journalist Manasseh Azure Awuni, Captain Smart, Afia Pokua among others.
