Kathleen Hochul is an American politician serving as the 57th governor of New York since August 24, 2021. She is a member of the Democratic Party. She is the first governor from Upstate New York since Nathan L. Miller became New York’s governor in 1920.
Since Kathy Hochul’s school days, she played a major role in boycotting legally accepted activities that students need louder mouths for.
She worked for a Washington, D.C., law firm (that was after graduating from law school) later, she found the work unsatisfying and quitted with them. She worked as legal counsel and legislative assistant to U.S. Representative John LaFalce and U.S. Senator Daniel Moynihan, and also for the New York State Assembly, before seeking elected office.
Kathy Hochul received a Bachelor of Arts with a major in political science from the Maxwell School of Syracuse University in 1980 and a Juris Doctor from the Catholic University of America Columbus School of Law in Washington, D.C. in 1984. She rose from department to department before resuming office as Governor of New York in the year 2021.

It was announced on 26th August 2021, that Kathy Hochul has been appointed State Senator Brian Benjamin to the position of lieutenant governor of New York. Benjamin was sworn in on September 9, 2021.
She is also the first New York governor from outside New York City and its immediate suburbs since 1932 (when Franklin Delano Roosevelt left office).
