The Ghana Education Service have issued a press release reacting to the chaos at the Kwame University of Science and Technology Senior High School.
In the late hours of yesterday, viral video indicated how some students of the KNUST SHS were helping their dieing colleague as some school Staff looked on.
According to the students, out of fear that their colleague was suspected to have contracted Covid-19 and he was left unattended to and in the care of his colleagues for nearly three hours until his father came to his rescue and sent him to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.
In the press release issued by the Ghana Education Service, it indicated that the” Director General of Ghana Education Service (GES) has directed the Head of KNUST SHS, Felicia Asamoah Dankwaa to step aside for the Regional Director of Education, Ashanti to take Over the administration of the school while Management of GES investigate the circumstances leading to the demise of a final year student on Tuesday 7th July 2020.”
