The Free Cervical Cancer Screening Programme initiated by Mr. Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa for females in his Constituency has saved seven (7) precious lives so far.
On Sunday, 9th May 2021, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa has launched one week Free Cervical Cancer Screening Programme for female Constituents on Mother’s Day in the North Tongu Constituency of the Volta Region.
This Programme was announced by the Member of Parliament as a special package to honour mothers and all female constituents in the North Tongu District.
The exercise which was scheduled to end on Saturday, 15th May, 2021 across six (6) different centres has ended with Dr. kofi Effah’s team detecting seven (7) positive cases which are being treated at the Battor Roman Catholic Hospital.
Mr. Ablakwa, in a statement said, through his generous intervention, a total of seven (7) precious lives who may soon have become part of the over 3,000 lives lost nationally each year to the disease have been saved by the joint team of health professionals in his Constituency.
“We remain eternally indebted to the inspirational Dr. Kofi Effah and his amazing colleagues. It is my expectation that all women in my beloved constituency will continue to take advantage of our all-year-round subsidized screening package at the Cervical Cancer Prevention and Training Centre of the Battor Catholic Hospital. Your health is also my concern ” Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa said.

3. Kluma CHPS
4. Volo Health Centre
5. Juapong Health Centre
6. Catholic Hospital, Battor
