The #fixthecountry convener Oliver Barker-Vormawor has been dragged to the High Court, Tema again.
Oliver Barker-Vormawor was in the news because of his Facebook comments which was deemed as a threat to the nation.
Just after his arrival from the United Kingdom, the Police arrested and detain him.
He stayed in their custody from the evening of 11th February 2022 due to the ‘coup comments’ he made on his Facebook page.
Afterwards, a Police press was released. In the release, they stated that his arrest was in connection with “a post he allegedly made on a social media platform to the effect that he would stage a coup himself if the E-Levy Bill is passed by Parliament.”
Oliver Barker -Vormawor appeared in Court on February 14, 2022 in other for the hearing the case.
At the Court, he was charged with treason felony (offence provided for in section 182(b) of Ghana’s Criminal offences Act).
Earlier in the news, the Former Special Prosecutor, Ghana voiced that, he didn’t coincide with the charges levelled against Oliver Barker -Wormawor after his arrest.
On 14th March 2022, a police escort was seen conveying Oliver Barker-Vormawor to Tema High Court in other for his lawyers attempt to seek him a bail.
