One day Holiday for Eid not enough; Umaru Sanda demands for two days Holiday for Muslims

Ghanaian Broadcast Journalist, News producer at Citi TV and FM Mr. Umaru Sanda Amadu says, the one-day holiday for the Eid-ul-Adha celebration in not enough for Muslims across the country.

He indicated that, Muslims need a 2-day Holiday for Eid celebration across the country.

In outlining the reasons that informed his decision, Umaru Sanda Amadu said, “We can’t predict the exact day for Eid-ul Fetir (the one after the Ramadan fast) because it depends on when we sight the new moon. Give us 2 days Holiday so we celebrate with certainty”

He further added that, the Muslims can predict the exact day for Eid-ul Adhar but they need more than one day to slaughter their rams, bulls and camels, roast or fry them for distribution to their neighbours.

In statement Intercepted by, Mr. Umaru Sanda Amadu said, one day Holiday midweek for instance prevents Muslims from having good time with family.

Recounting his personal experience, he reveals that, h had to leave his sweet mother in a hurry this morning to come to work.

Though, he believes his reasons are resolute, he has therefore called on the Muslims community and well-meaning Ghanaians to add their reason if you agree with #2EidHolidays.

Umaru Sanda Amadu made this statement after the Eid-ul-Adha was celebrated on Tuesday, 20th July, 2021.
