Prez. Nana Addo accepts Martin Amidu’s Resignation, says he wishes him the best in his future endeavours
Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo and Special Prosecutor Martin Amidu
The President of the Republic of Ghana, Nana Addo-Dankwa Akufo Addo has accepted the Resignation of Mr. Martin Amidu.
Mr. Martin Amidu resigned as Special Prosecutor after three (3) years of occupying the office of the special prosecutor following his appointment by President Nana Akufo Addo.
In a response letter from the chief of staff, Mrs Akosua Frema Osei-Opare indicated that, President Nana Addo-Dankwa Akufo Addo has accepted the resignation of Mr. Martin Amidu as special prosecutor.
The letter to Mr. Martin Amidu from the office of the President also indicated that the President has directed the chief of staff to ensure that all emoluments and benefits that are due Mr. Martin Amidu under the law are paid him accordingly.
The letter signed by the chief of staff said “This is to acknowledge receipt of your letter, dated 16 November, 2020 (RefOSP2/A/14), addressed to the President of the Republic conveying to him your decision to resign from office as special Prosecutor, which he has accepted.
The President has taken due note of the other matters raised in your letter, and the Government will issue a statement responding to them in due course.”
President Nana Addo-Dankwa Akufo Addo also extended his gratitude Mr. Martin Amidu for his service to the State and wishes you the best in your future endeavours.
