Prof. Ken Attafuah awarded Ghana’s most outstanding public service CEO in Digital Information

The Executive Secretary of the National Identification Authority Prof. Kenneth Agyemang Attafuah has been recognized as the Ghana’s Most Outstanding Public Service CEO of the Year 2023 in the Digital Information Category at the 13th edition of the Ghana Entrepreneurs and Corporate Executives Awards and Summit, held on 23rd June 2023 at the Labadi Beach Hotel, Accra.

The award was given in recognition of his sterling leadership and innovation in providing a robust, ultra-modern and reliable NIS for Ghana.

The NIS comprises the Ghana Card, a de-duplicated National Identity Register and a secure, biometric Verification System that meets the highest international standards within a Public Private Partnership framework between the National Identification Authority (NIA) and Identity Management System II Limited (IMS II), a majority Ghanaian owned company.

According to Prof. Kenneth Agyemang Attafuah, the award ceremony, themed “Promoting Business Cooperation between Private and Public Sector Development in Ghana” resonates deeply with his long-standing commitment to fostering collaboration with cognate institutions such as, SSNIT, GRA, NHIA, DVLA, EC, and other relevant stakeholders for national development.

“Indeed, as the citation accompanying the award asserts, the innovations in identity management and verification systems instituted by NIA under my leadership “enables public and private sector businesses to minimize the risk of financial losses arising from identity theft and financial fraud, and also fosters economic, social and political inclusion.”

Prof. Kenneth Agyemang Attafuah expressed his sincere appreciation to the organizers of the awards – Entrepreneurs Foundation and Corporate Executives – for this stellar recognition.
