RE: Anlo Traditional Council injuncts Korbadzi stool of Gefia – Avenor Traditional Council

The Ministry of Chieftaincy and Religious Affairs of Avenor Traditional Council has called on the Volta Regional House of Chiefs to bring the Anlo Traditional Council to order from interfering in their Chieftaincy matters. According to them, the Anlo Traditional Council has unlawful taken over Chiettaincy matters of Gefia, a community in the Avenor Traditional Areas.

In the letter written to the office of the Registrar of the Volta Regional House of Chiefs said, the Anlo Traditional Council is persistently undermining and disrespecting Avenor Traditional Council since its assumption to that effect.

Ameku Raphael Kofi, the General Secretary of the Avenor Traditional Area in a letter said, “l have been directed by Avenor Traditional Council to bring to your attention the occurrences (documents attached) of above subject matters for your perusal and the necessary action.”

“The attachments are self-explanatory and very clear that the Anlo Traditioal Council is
persistently undermining and disrespecting Avenor Traditional Council since its assumption to that effect.” He explained.

According to them, the Anlo Traditional Council always tries to usurp the authority and the jurisdiction of Avenor Traditional Council and thereby create unwarranted conflicts and division among the chiefs and people of the Avenor Traditional Area.

“We therefore deem it fit to bring to your attention that once again the Anlo Traditional Cauncil is interfering with the Avenor Chiettaincy issues ernemously and call on bring them to order.” He appealed.
