Information available to coverghana.com.gh indicates the reasons why a building purported to belong to the Nigeria High commission of Ghana has been demolished.
In the last few days, there have several media reports of how armed men stormed the Nigerian High Commissioner’s’ residence in Accra on Friday night with bulldozers and demolished a building apartment on the property.
In the face of this demolishing exercise, the The Head of the Osu Traditional Area Nii Okwei Kinka Dowuona VI has released a press statement explaining why the said building has been demolished.
According to the Osu Traditional Area, the said parcel of land belongs to the Osu stool and is to be used for purposes only agreed upon by the stool and its council of elders and that the land of the Osu traditional area was trespassed on and that the intention of the trespasser is to forcibly take over land under the cover of diplomatic mission from the stool land without redress and without the permission of the traditional authority and its council of elders.
