The President of the “think tank” group IMANI Africa has reacted to the debate about which Government should be given credit for the building of the Accra-Tema motorway interchange.
Yesterday 5th June,2020 President of the Republic, Nana Akufo Addo at a brief ceremony in Tema, commissioned Phase One of the Tema Interchange Project which has triggered the debate as to who should get credit for the building of the interchange.
While members of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) are claiming the project to be one of John Dramani Mahama’s legacies, the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) thinks this is an Akufo-Addo’s project.
In a Facebook post, Mr. Franklin Cudjoe explained that, the two political parties can claim ownership of the interchange, but the fact of the issue is that, it was former President John Mahama that negotiated the grant for the road and President Nana Addo built it.
He however concluded that, the two political parties, the National Democratic Congress and the New Patriotic Party can only fight over who gets credit for the project only if they built it with their own money.
