Thunder strikes the girls dormitory of St. Daniel Comboni Vocational Technical Institute (DANCOTECH) into ashes.

Coverghana.com.gh can report that, on Sunday, 6th March, 2021, a thunderstorm sets the St. Daniel Comboni Vocational Technical Institute girls dormitory ablaze a day after the students left for vacation.

The disaster occured around 6:00pm on Sunday causing serious damage to the school properties. The fire has also destroyed lot of things like assorted books, trunks, chockboxes, sewing machines, mattresses and many more.

The school authority, students, staff and people of Liati experienced a great shock when the school’s girls domitary was set on fire by the thunderstorm.

Sources disclosed that, the school vacated on Friday, 4th March, 2021 where the students left the school on Saturday, 5th March, 2021 before the tragedy occurred on Saturday the 6th March.

It must be noted that until the students come back from the vacation, the cost of things destroyed by the fire cannot be valued.

St. Daniel Comboni Vocational Technical Institute (DANCOTECH) is situated at Liati in the Afadzato South District of the Volta region.

The school authority are therefore appealing to the general public, benevolent, philanthropists, citizens and former students to come to the aid of the school.
