UCC Academic Policy on withdrawal and dismissal from the University
The Directorate of Academic Affairs of the University of Cape Coast explained that, a student may voluntarily withdraw from the University or may be officially dismissed/withdrawn from the University for academic and non-academic reasons.
According to the information available on the University’s portal,
Every student must:
1. Pass all courses taken (Obtain Grade A – D).
2. Attain a minimum C.G.P.A. of 1.0
Students with GPA below 1.0 at the end of the first semester shall be cautioned by the Director (Academic Affairs) and counselled by the Departmental Academic Advisor and/or University Counseling Centre.

Dismissal
A Level 100 student who loses a total of twelve (12) credits registered for an academic year (either in the first, second or in both semesters) will be dismissed for poor academic performance. Such a student may, however, re-apply for admission into a different program the following academic year.

Voluntary Withdrawal
1. A student who withdraws voluntarily from a programme may re-apply for admission at a later date.
2. A student may be dismissed or rusticated for academic and non-academic reasons.
3. A student who is dismissed on disciplinary grounds will not be considered for re-admission at a later date.
4. A student who is withdrawn on academic grounds may re-apply for admission.
