A five-member team of researchers from the University of Education, Winneba (UEW), has won a grant award of €18,000.00 from Volvo Research and Educational Foundations (VREF) to roll out, for the second time, a course on “The State-of-the-Art in Scientific Writing and Publication” at the UEW.
The team will be training emerging scholars on the African continent from Tuesday, 25th July to Tuesday, 19th September, 2023.
The eight-module course will focus on choosing a research topic and framing the research gap, dealing with the manuscript structure and content, scientific writing, abstract composition, and elements of an abstract, reference management, and citation, and criteria for selecting high-quality referred journals.
The facilitators of the course are seven of who Prof. Enoch F. Sam is the lead, Prof. Lucy Effeh Attom, Prof. (Mrs.) Esther Yeboah Danso-Wiredu, Prof. Samuel K. Hayford, Dr. Prince Kwame Odame all from university of education Prof. Ann Lopez from the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education, University of Toronto, Canada and Dr. Ibraheem Forson Abdul-Azeez School of Transport and Logistics, Lagos State University, Nigeria.
In the previous year the team equipped 70 early-career scholars in Ghana, Zambia, Nigeria Kenya, and Namibia with the needed skills and tools to carry out their emergent scholarly works, develop and sustain academic careers, and contribute to international knowledge production.
The project is under the Voloo Research and Educational Foundation MAC Skills and Tools Short Academic Course.
