Validators in Volta Region to pay GH₵450 for a workshop on payroll system and validation – Check details

Controller and Accountant-General's Department (CAGD) can reliably report that, all validators in the Volta Region of Ghana have been directed to make a payment of GH₵450 per participant for a training workshop on the New Mandatory ESPV Report Generation and Validation.

In reference to the directive, validators may also pay GH¢300.00 per participant for a group of four (4) from the same course center.

According to the information, the registration fee covers snacks and lunch, face masks, materials, certificate and proceedings/tuition for the training workshop for Validators.

The statement further added that, the training workshop is mandatory for all target groups within the Volta Region.

The workshop is scheduled to commence on 31st July, 2021 at Ola Senior High School in the Ho Municipal across the region, and ends on 9th August, 2021 in Hohoe.

This is contained in a statement issued by the Volta Regional Director of Education, Enyonam Afi Amafuga (Ms.) to District Directors and GES staff.

V/R: Training Timetable for GES staff on ESPV Report Generation and Validation

The statement said, the Controller and Accountant-General’s Department (CAGD) as a matter of policy requires Heads of MDAs and MMDAs to generate and submit monthly reports of Electronic Salary Payment Vouchers (ESPV) validated.

According to the information, the key policy initiative being implemented by CAGD is to sensitize the entire payroll system and to ensure the authenticity of the validations done monthly.


In view ot this, the institute of management and Entrepreneurship is organizing a two (2) day workshop for validators and heads of institutions within the public service on how to effectively generate and submit ESPV reports and to set up those who are yet to be put on the ESPV platform.

1. District Directors

2. Headmasters of Second cycle institutions

3. Head teachers and Assistants at the Basic Schools

4. Human Resource Managers and Officers (SiSOs)

7. I.P.P.D. Officers

8. Payroll Co-ordinators

9. Internal Auditors

“Please, this workshop is compulsory for all validators so all should make it a point to attend.” the statement said.

Reliable sources indicate that, the training workshop is going to be a nationwide Programme for Validators in order to prepare them meet the current upgrade system of the Controller and Accountant-General’s Department.
