Students of Aburi Girls’ Senior High School broke down in tears as the school fell downhill in the ongoing National Science and Maths Quiz (NSMQ) 2022 competition at the preliminary stage.
The students of the school were grief in pains as they were defeated in the bragging NSMQ contests organized by Primetime.
Tears flow down the students after Adu Gyamfi Senior High School booted the celebrated Aburi Girls’ Senior High School out of the 2022 National Science and Maths Quiz (NSMQ) just in the preliminary stage of the contests on Tuesday, 11th October, 2022.

The Aburi Girls’ Senior High School sited on the mountains at Aburi in the Eastern Region of Ghana could not display its prowess shine on Tuesday, despite the promising atmosphere as they were evicted from the competition without notice.
The content which took place in the Kumapley auditorium at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) featured Aburi Girls’ SHS, Sefwi Wiawso SHS and Adu Gyamfi SHS.

Adu Gyamfi Senior High School which was regarded the underdog won the contest comfortably with a total of 41 points while Aburi Girls’ SHS and Sefwi Wiawso SHS brawled with 24 points and 10 points, respectively.
Right from the beginning of the contest, the Adu Gyamfi boys kept a clean sheet with only a little favour to the Aburi Girls in the second round.
It was impressive in the fourth round when Adu Gyamfi answered all their true/false questions correctly, keeping a clear distance between them and their opponents.

It may not be over yet for Aburi Girls SHS as they stand the chance of being selected as one of the highest scoring schools to join the one-eighth stage of the contest.
The National Science and Maths Quiz (NSMQ) is the longest-running independent production on television in Ghana. The programme is very popular with not only its main target group, Senior High School students but also with parents and, especially, with former students (old boys and girls), who take great pride in the performance of their schools on this programme.
