Veteran Nollywood actor John Okafor, popularly known as Mr. Ibu, has returned home after a successful surgical procedure that resulted in the amputation of his leg.

In October 2023, Mr. Ibu revealed that he was battling a life-threatening illness and made a plea for financial support from his hospital bed. The response was overwhelming, with numerous individuals and organizations, including the Abubakar Bukola Saraki (ABS) Foundation, generously contributing to cover his medical expenses.

Unfortunately, on November 6, 2023, Mr. Ibu’s family received the heartbreaking news that he would require the amputation of one of his legs after undergoing seven procedures. Since then, he has been in the hospital, focusing on his journey to recovery.

Recently, actor Ken Eric’s Instagram page shared a video providing an encouraging update on Mr. Ibu’s recovery progress following the leg amputation. The video showed Mr. Ibu engaged in conversation with a fellow actor in the comfort of his living room.

Although Mr. Ibu has not made any on-camera appearances since his release from the hospital, there has been no official statement from his family regarding his current health status.
