The Black Stars of Ghana has clashed with the Supper Eagles of Nigeria on Friday, 25th March, 2022 at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi for their first leg of the 2022 World Cup Quilifers play-off.

It was a crucial game between the two African rivals as fans for each side were hoping for victory to book a place in FIFA Qatar 2022 tournament.

The game which ended with a 0:0 draw saw some Ghanaians supporter jubilating after the Video Assistant Referee (VAR) disallowed a critical Nigeria Penalty against Ghana in the eleventh hour to the end of the game.

The Video Assistant Referee (VAR) captured a Black Stars player struggling with the ball with two players of the Supper Eagles of Nigeria as he fell on the ground with the ball touching his hands.

The referee earlier intended to give a penalty in favour of Nigeria until he resorted to the Video Assistant Referee (VAR) which later disallowed the penalty.

Upon disallowing the penalty, Ghanaian fans were seen in a trending video celebrating the decision in a colourful style.

Prior to the clash between Ghana and Nigeria, a Video Assistant Referee (VAR) has been installed at the Baba Yara stadium.

The National Sports Authority believe that, the decision to install the VAR at the stadium was good idea.
