W/R Police arrests 2 “ex-military officers” for impersonating GoldBod Taskforce officials

The Western Central Regional Police Command has arrested two (2) individuals for allegedly impersonating members of the Ghana Gold Board Taskforce and engaging in acts of extortion.

The suspects, Foster Delord (40) and Prince Worvi (38)—who both claim to be ex-military officers—were apprehended after a report was filed indicating that they had been visiting various gold dealers, falsely presenting themselves as taskforce officials from the Ghana Gold Board.

During their arrest, the police retrieved several items from the suspects, including 1 handcuff, 1 pepper spray, 1 electric shocker, a set of uniform, and a a cash of GHC¢500.00

Both suspects have since been arraigned before the Tarkwa Circuit Court and have been remanded into police custody while investigations continue.

The Regional Police Command is urging the public, especially those in the gold trade, to be vigilant and demand proper identification from anyone claiming to represent a government agency.
