The Ministry of Education led by Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum has directed a reversal of the Semester Academic Calendar to Trimester Academic Calendar for Basic Schools.
In accordance with the new directive, all Basic Schools teachers (From Kindergarten to Junior High Schools) are expected to prepare a new Yearly Scheme of Learning, Termly Scheme of Learning and Weekly Scheme of Learning for each class and subjects being taught.
For a teacher to smoothly and effectively prepare the above schemes of learnings, he/she is expected and or mandated to prepare Week Endings for each of the three (3) terms in the 2022 Trimester Academic Year.

FIRST TERM

According to the 2022 Trimester Academic Calendar, the first term will commence from 18th January, 2022 and end on 14th April, 2022 covering 12 weeks. Vacation is scheduled between 15th April, 2022 and 9th May, 2022.
SECOND TERM
With reference to the Education Minister’s directive, the second term is scheduled between 10th May, 2022 to 18th August, 2022 within 14 weeks period. Vacation is from 19th August, 2022 to 12th September, 2022.

THIRD TERM
The third term is supposed to be opened from 13th September, 2022 to 22nd December, 2022 within 14 weeks period.
