What is GALOP – Ghana Accountability for Learning Outcomes Project
GALOP means Ghana Accountability Learning Outcomes Project. It is an educational policy program under the ministry of education in Ghana with support from the World Bank and other supporting organizations.
To be able to ensure and make positive changes in the performance of our public basic schools and promote equal access to the quality of basic education that meets expectations to every child, the Ministry of Education partnered with the world bank and developed this five-year project called the Ghana Accountability Learning Outcomes Project also known as GALOP.
GALOP has enrolled every special school in Ghana with and about  10,000 least performing Basic Schools from Kindergarten (KG) to Junior High Schools (JHS).
The project which is jointly funded by the World Bank, Department for International Development (DfID) and Global Partnerships for Education (GPE) has around $218.7m as the funding amount.
GALOP falls under the Education Strategic Plan (ESP) laid out by the Ministry of education for a 12-year period spanning from 2018 to 2030.
