The debate as to whether a sitting President or an individual has the right to legalize homose..xuality in a given country or being directed by another country to legalize same because of financial assistance or whatsoever has become the topic of the day in Ghana.

Many Ghanaian citizens are of the view that, legalizing homose..xuality in the country do not conform with Ghana’s cultural values, norms and practices while a few believe that, it’s the right of individuals to choose/determine their se.x or to agree to practice the controversial same se.x in the country.

This debate re-surfaced following a Private Members anti-LGBTQ+ Bill laid before the 8th Parliament of the Republic of Ghana to be passed in order to restrain and prohibit persons who are exploring secret avenue to practice LGBTQ+ in Ghana and legalize same.
