Allowances for the Council of State Members and the Chairperson have been revealed.
The allowances due each member of the Council of State have been disclosed by Ntiamoa-Baidu Presidential Committee.
This is contained in the Ntiamoa-Baidu Presidential Committee’s projection for the Council of State’s allowance pay cut to assist the nation tackles its economic challenges.
According to the Committee, they have projected for two positions namely the Chairperson and Members of the Council.
The Committee said, the Chairperson takes a whopping allowance of Gh¢28,455 monthly therefore, 20% must be cut off.
According to the report, the 20% cut off pay will amount to Gh¢5,691. Also, when the 20% cut off runs for a period of 10 months, the government will accrue Gh¢56,910.
With regards to the members, they receive a monthly allowance of Gh¢26,266. When a 20% cut off pay is applied on the said amount of money, Gh¢5,253.2 will be deducted from their monthly allowance which will accrue Gh¢1,575,960 over a period of 10 months.
In a nutshell, the government will receive a total of Gh¢1,632,870 from the Council of State with a time frame of 10 months.
Earlier in the news, President Akufo-Addo announced the cut of expenditure of Ministers, Department and Agencies after Cabinet retreat.
He disclosed the plan publicly at the National Labour Conference held in Kwahu, Eastern region. The President’s motive was to call all on board, in addressing the nation’s problem economic problems collectively.
