The Founding President of IMANI Africa Mr. Franklin Cudjoe has responded to a press statement issued by the office of the Deputy Auditor-General who is serving as an Ag. Auditor-General Johnson Akuamoah Asiedu in connection with an interview he granted to the renowned journalist Umaru Sanda Amadu of CITI FM. According to him, the press statement is needless and lacks the light of the day, hence must be discarded immediately.
In a counter press statement from Mr. Franklin Cudjoe, he noted that, his outfit has seen a press release purportedly written on behalf of Deputy Auditors-General responding and asking for proof of claims I have not made.
Responding further, he said “In an interview with Citi FM’s Umaru Sanda Amadu on Thursday’s edition of the Eye Witness News programme, I did say that I have been consulted by an interlocutor of a number Assistant Auditors-General and made aware of the silent uneasiness they feel working with the Acting Auditor-General, because they think of him as a useful bendable tool in the hands of the Chairman of the Board for the Audit Service.”
According to the IMANI Africa Boss, “In fact, the interlocutor called several times and pleaded for a meeting on behalf of the Assistant Auditors-General with me and my team in order to give us a lot of information to aid our advocacy. I finally gave the gentleman contact details of my Senior Vice- President, Kofi Bentil. The public should wait patiently for the outcome of the ensuing interactions.”
He swiftly declined the allegations saying, he never said anywhere that he met with Deputy Auditors- General. The request therefore for details of the alleged meetings is not necessary as there never was.
“I wish the Deputy Auditors-General and all staff of the Audit Service the very best of luck as they struggle to feel fulfilled since it is obvious they have been cowed into subservience, an effect of which is the press statement I am replying to, reluctantly.” He said.
