Accra FM journalist, Kwabena Bobie Ansah has broken his silence after he was released by the Ghana Police Service from custody of GH¢50,000 bail.
On Thursday, 10th February, 2022, the Ghana Police Service has arrested the host of Accra FM political show named “citizens show” Kwabena Bobie Ansah.
According to the Police, Mr Kwabena Bobbie Ansah was arrested by the Accra Regional Police Command in connection with an alleged case of publication of false news and offensive conduct.

The Police said his arrest became necessary after he turned down several invitations from the Police to him and others involved in the case to assist with investigation.
Contrary to the Police statement, Mr. Kwabena Bobie Ansah has denied and refuted the claims that, he turned down Police invitation as contained in their statement.
In giving his priliminary account on what transpired, he said, the Police Service about two weeks ago wrote to CMG requesting for a video he aired on his show concerning the land under discussions which they provided.

He disclosed that, after the detailed were provided, he saw a missed call notification on his phone on the 10th of this month (Thursday) around 8am, and he called back out of courtesy, where the respondent mentioned his name as Sup. Asare from the national crime office.
Kwabena Bobie Ansah added that, Sup. Asare further directed him to go and see the Cantoments Police Crime Officer for some discussions, actually he [Sup. Asare] sounded incoherent but he think it’s trivial for him to dwell on it.

The journalist explained that, he didn’t have the contact of the latter officer at cantonments and asked Sup. Asare to furnish him the contact which he did and still have his message on his phone as an evidence.
According to him, apparently he was out of town and was setting off back to Accra, however he did the needful and called the man called Mr Appeatu, where they had a very fruitful discussions on the phone and concluded that they can meet on this coming Monday morning (14th February, 2022).
In view of this, he psyched himself for a Monday meeting only for him to come face to face with such an arrest by the Ghana Police Service.
He notified that, he has the screenshot of the message sent to him by Sup. Asare and will put it out at the appropriate time.
“I am just defusing the falsehood put out in the name of the police service.” He said.
