Avenor Traditional Council calls on Dr. Achibald Yao Letsa
A delegation of Chiefs and Queens from the Avenor Traditional Area led by the Paramount Chief of the Avenor Traditional Area, President of the Avenor Traditional Council and Member of the National House of Chiefs, Togbe Dorglo Anumah VI, paid a courtesy call on the Volta Regional Minister Dr. Achibald Yao Letsa at his office, Ho.
The call, according to the delegation, was among other things to congratulate the Minister on his reappointment, pledge their support, and discuss with him some development needs of the area.
Speaking on behalf of the delegation, Togbi Dorglo Anumah VI noted that the Regional Minister had a strong love for the Traditional Area.
He acknowledged the role Dr. Letsa played which made it possible for the Traditional Council to pay a courtesy call on H.E Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, President of the Republic of Ghana.
He was happy that work had begun on the improvement of Akatsi Township roads. He however, pleaded that the contractor be made to return to site.
He pointed out the readiness of Dr. Letsa to work with Traditional Rulers in the Region while acknowledging the role he was playing to ensure sustainable peace and security in the Region.

Togbi Dorglo Anumah VI used the call to request another arrangement for them to pay a courtesy call on President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.
They also discussed issues on the modernization of the Akatsi Market, creation of jobs in the area and the need for ramps to safeguard the lives of pedestrians.
While welcoming the delegation, Dr. Letsa expressed his happiness about the call. He indicated that H.E. the President of the Republic of Ghana Nana Akufo-Addo always remembered Avenor. He stated it was under the administration of Nana Akufo-Addo that the Traditional Area gained a Traditional Council status, and the Akatsi South District Assembly became a Municipal Assembly. The Minister therefore expressed the hope that the Traditional Area would also always remember Nana Akufo-Addo and his political party.

Dr. Letsa was happy that Togbi Dorglo Anumah VI appreciated what the New Patriotic Party government had done, and continued to do in the area and assured them of the return of the contractor to continue with the road project.
On the request that he make another arrangement for the Traditional Council to pay a courtesy call on H.E. the President, Dr. Letsa indicated his willingness and readiness.
Addressing the issues on modernization of the Akatsi Market, he informed the delegation of the expression of interest by an investor to help modernize the market and therefore stated that, the investor would have to hold discussions with the Assembly and decide on the way forward.
Speaking on job creation in the Avenor Traditional area, the Regional Minister stated that there’s a need to look for investment in the agricultural sector in order that production and processing of farm produce could create more jobs.
He assured the delegation of the support of the Volta Regional Coordinating Council towards the development of Akatsi South Municipality and stated that his doors remained open to the Traditional Council as he expressed his gratitude to the Council for its gift.
