The chairperson of the Electoral Commission of Ghana Mrs Jean Mensah has revealed the exact amount her outfit is using to procure the various electronic devices for their planned compilation of their new voter’s register.
Speaking at a forum in Accra to access the impact of Covid-19 on businesses and workers, Madam Jean Mensah said that, there are a lot of ‘Lies’ going around about the cost of the devices they are procuring for the compilation of the new voter’s register.

She said ” there are a lot of lies going round about the cost of the procurements, you hear some people say the commission is spending $150 million to procure kits, other times they’re saying we’re using $300 dollars to procure kits. I did the calculator’s when I was coming here and at the right time the documents will be produced.”

Touching on the actual prices of the devices, Mrs Jean Mensah said;
For the kits that we are buying, for all the kits both verification and registration kits, were spending $54 million, for the data centre, we are spending $6 million dollars and for the software, we are spending $4 million. So for the whole system we are spending $64 million”
