GES releases 2022 Academic Calendar for schools – Check Full Breakdown

Management of the Ghana Education Service (GES) has released the 2022 Academic Calendar for Pre-tertiary schools.

According to the calendar all Public Basic Schools shall reopen on Tuesday, 18th January, 2021.

BREAKDOWN OF PUBLIC BASIC SCHOOLS (KG/PRIMARY/JHS) CALENDAR

FIRST SEMESTER

First Semester begins from 18th January, 2022 to 9th June, 2022

VACATION

10th June, 2022 to 25th July, 2022

Confirmed: GES announces reopening date for Public Basic Schools

SECOND SEMESTER

26th July, 2022 to 16th December, 2022

VACATION

17th December until next academic year.

FIRST SEMESTER BREAK

12th April, 2022 to 18th April, 2022.

SECOND SEMESTER BREAK

30th September, 2022 to 9th October, 2022

FIRST SEMESTER CALENDAR FOR DOUBLE TRACK SCHOOLS – SHS

FORM THREE (3) DOUBLE TRACK STUDENTS

The form three (3) double track students shall be in school from 7th February, 2022 to 1st April, 2022. Their vacation date is scheduled from 2nd April, 2022 to 18th April, 2022.

GES begins CCP Curriculum Training for JHS teachers

FORM TWO (2) DOUBLE TRACK STUDENTS

FIRST SESSION

Form two (2) double track students shall be in school from 7th February, 2022 to 14th April, 2022 for first session. The vacation is from 15th April, 2022 to 25th June, 2022.

SECOND SESSION

The form two double track students shall return to school on 26th June, 2022 to 16th July, 2022.

FORM ONE (1) DOUBLE TRACK STUDENTS

FIRST SESSION

SHS one students under the double track shall resume school on 4th April, 2022 to 20th June, 2022. Vacation is scheduled from 21st June, 2022 to 3rd September, 2022.

SECOND SESSION

For the second session, the SHS one double track students shall be in school from 4th September, 2022 to 24th September, 2022 and the second semester begins with no break.

SECOND SEMESTER CALENDAR FOR DOUBLE TRACK SCHOOLS

FORM THREE (3)

The form three (3) double track students shall be in school from 19th April, 2022 until end of WASSCE.

FORM TWO (2) DOUBLE TRACK STUDENTS

FIRST SESSION

The second semester of form two double track students shall commence school from 17th July, 2022 to 26th July, August, 2022. The vacation is set from 27th August, 2022 to 6th October, 2022.

SECOND SESSION

The second session for form two double track students shall start school from 7th October, 2022 to 16th December, 2022.

FORM ONE DOUBLE TRACK STUDENTS

The second semester for SHS one double track students will begin on 25th September, 2022 to 16th December, 2022.

According to the academic calendar, SHS 3 double track students shall spend 32 weeks in school, SHS two double track students will spend 32 weeks in school while SHS one double track students will spend 27 weeks in school.

FIRST SEMESTER CALENDAR FOR SINGLE TRACK SCHOOLS – SHS

FORM THREE (3) SINGLE TRACK STUDENTS

According to the calendar, form three (3) single track students will resume school on 7th February, 2022 to 31st May, 2022. Their vacation is scheduled from 1st June, 2022 to 13th June, 2022.

FORM TWO (2) SINGLE TRACK STUDENTS

The form single track students shall be in school from 7th February, 2022 to 17th May, 2022 and be on vacation from 18th May, 2022 to 13th June, 2022.

FORM ONE SINGLE TRACK STUDENTS

The form single track students shall be in school from 4th April, 2022 to 14th July, 2022. Their vacation is scheduled for 15th July, 2022 to 15th August, 2022.

SECOND SEMESTER CALENDAR FOR SINGLE TRACK SCHOOLS – SHS

FROM THREE (3) SINGLE TRACK STUDENTS

For the second semester, the form three single track students shall be in school from 14th June, 2022 until end of WASSCE.

FORM TWO SINGLE TRACK STUDENTS

The form two single track students will be in school for the second semester from 14th June to 1st November, 2022.

NaCCA releases learning areas of the Common Core Programme

FORM ONE SINGLE TRACK STUDENTS

The form one single track students shall be in school for the second semester from 16th August to 13th December, 2022.

Per the calendar, SHS single track students shall be in school for 30 weeks, SHS two for 34 weeks while SHS one students will spend 31 weeks in school.

DATE FOR 2022 WASSCE

The 2022 West African Senior School Examination (WASSCE) is scheduled for August/September 2022.
