Hon. Samuel Okudzeto Successfully files his Nomination with the Electoral Commission to Contest for MP for North Tongu

The Member of Parliament for the North Tongu Constituency on the ticket of the National Democratic Congress, Hon. Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa has successfully filled his nomination with the Electoral Commission.

On Tuesday, 5th October, 2020, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa filled his nomination form with the Electoral Commission’s district office at North Tongu to contest to become the Member of Parliament for the North Tongu Constituency on the ticket of the NDC.

Hon. Samuel Okudzeto indicated that, he is grateful for the profound solidarity exhibited by the People of North Tongu despite the recent violent insurgency, in the North Tongu constituency perpetrated by Western Togoland Secessionists within the past few weeks.

Below is the Statement from Hon. Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa after Successfully filing his Nominations 

HON. OKUDZETO ABLAKWA WRITES;

I have today successfully filed my nominations with the district office of the Electoral Commission to contest as Member of Parliament for my beloved North Tongu Constituency on the ticket of the great NDC.

I am grateful for the profound solidarity exhibited by okada riders who led me on an exciting procession through the streets of Mepe, Battor and Aveyime ahead of the formal filing process. Undoubtedly a clear demonstration that former President John Mahama’s pledge to legalize and regulate the okada business is practical, popular and possible. The NDC People’s Manifesto continues to galvanize many sections of society.

It is instructive to note that despite the recent violent insurgency, the good people of North Tongu are not intimidated and are determined to actively participate in the Ghanaian democratic experiment.

As I made clear in my remarks, we are resolved to remain loyal to the Ghanaian nation state as we deepen our contributions in perfecting this union.

I pledge by the Grace of God to continue to serve my people with distinction and be a worthy representative who puts the needs and objectives of the collective above any parochial or personal interest.
