The President of the Republic of Ghana, Nana Akufo Addo has authorised the payment of $45,000 to boxer David Kotey.

Ghanaian Boxer D. K Poison on petitioned President Nana Akufo Addo for a refund of an amount of $45,000 that the state of Ghana borrowed from him some years ago.

According to a letter from the office of the President signed by the secretary to the President, Nana Asante Bediatuo requested of the Ministry of Finance to take the necessary action to pay D.K poison the $45,000 that the country borrowed from him.

About D. K Poison

David Kotey was a world featherweight boxing champion between 1975 and 1976 and was also the first Ghanaian professional boxer to win a world title. He was popularly called “D.K. Poison”.
