Hon. Kobena Mensah Woyome sponsors critical eye surgeries for constituents in South Tongu
Member of Parliament for South Tongu Constituency Honourable Wisdom Kobena Mensah Woyome has so far sponsored critical eye surgeries for about 627 constituents in his constituency.
Hon. Woyome in collaboration with the Sogakope District Hospital, Life Wells Vision and the Friends of the Eye have scheduled another 6-day eye surgeries exercise which started on Monday 15th August, 2022 and saw a number of constituents in attendance.

The second critical eye surgeries exercise have booked a total of three hundred and thirty (330) constituents for surgeries. The people with eye problems were selected after the MP organized another free eye screening for 1,908 constituents which took place from 18th July, 2022 to 21st July, 2022 at Dabala, Larve, Agave and Sogakope zones.
Earlier, the MP sponsored eye surgeries for a total of two hundred and ninety-seven (297) persons that saw 1,697 people being screened. The exercise took place at the Sogakope District Hospital from Monday, 27th September, 2021 to Friday, 1st October, 2021.
In all, a total of 3,605 people were screened for the first phase and second phase eye screening across four zones.

Well trained and volunteer eye specialists/professional doctors were deployed from the Life Wells Vision and the Friends of the Eye, Tamale, assisted by doctors and nurses at the Sogakope District Hospital to carry out the surgeries.
Aside the surgeries, thousands of constituents have also benefited from free eye screening, treatment, medicated glasses among others.
In a visit to the Sogakope District Hospital to monitor the ongoing exercise, Mr. Woyome said, the purpose of the Free Eye Screening and surgeries is to minimize blindness among his constituents through treatment, issuance of glasses at subsidized cost borne by his office and other partners.
Mr. Woyome is thankful to all for the cooperation. He said, the work is a collective effort and he is glad everyone is getting involved.
The beneficiaries of the exercise expressed joy and satisfaction as they thanked the Honourable Member of Parliament, Mr. Kobena Mensah Woyome for his continued kindness and support.
