John-Peter Amewu, the honourable Member of Parliament for the Hohoe Constituency in the Volta Region has supported some fifty-five (55) brilliant but needy tertiary students hailing from Hohoe.

Speaking on VOV Radio at Hohoe on Monday, February 14, 2022, the legislature indicated that, the scholarship awarded was to enable the beneficiaries pay their fees.

The amount, which ranges from GH¢1,000.00 to GH¢4,000.00 per student was from the MP’s Common Fund. Allocations were done depending on the school of the beneficiary.

The former Energy Minister, John-Peter Amewu also indicated that, this was the first time he is putting up such a project and the intention is to keep supporting the beneficiaries until they graduate, with the condition that they maintain good level of academic performances.

The MP is also currently supporting 10 other brilliant students from Hohoe to continue their tertiary education at Ivy-League University in the US and the beneficiaries are preparing to write their SAT exams.

Some of the beneficiaries of the sponsorship are in tertiary Institutions such as University of Ghana (UG), Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), University of Cape Coast (UCC), University of Health and Allied Sciences (UHAS), Ho Technical University, St. Francis College of Education and St. Teresa’s College of Education among others.
