Professor Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang, the Vice Presidential Candidate of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) has assured families of the party footsoldiers/supporters who were shot dead by supposed uniformed military personnel during the December 2020 general elections that, they shall be served justice.
During the December 2020 Presidential and Parliamentary elections, some supporters of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and other civilians were shot by uniformed military personnel described by NDC as hoodlums of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) who were paraded in military uniform with guns, some of whom were intimidating voters according to NDC.
According to reports available to Coverghana Media Network, six (6) of the persons shot were confirmed dead while the rest are receiving treatment and others in critical conditions.
The NDC’s running mate Professor Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang who visited the families of the deceased persons and some injured Ghanaians receiving treatment at the hospital said, the party will explore all means to ensure that, justice is served the lost souls among others.
In Facebook post made by Professor Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang after her visit monitored by Coverghana.com.gh said, “I have been commiserating with the family of Ibrahim Abass, the young NDC activist who was shot at a collation centre in the Ablekuma Central Constituency on December 7 after he lost the battle for his life earlier today.”
“I also visited the injured in hospital and those discharged in their homes. Violence must have no place in our elections.”
“You have our strongest assurance that we shall not rest until the perpetrators are brought to justice.”
“May Allah grant the beautiful soul of Ibrahim Abass and all those killed by bloodthirsty hoodlums during the 2020 elections Jannatul Firdaus.”
